HALLOWEEN BAKING!

Halloween! In my eyes this is the best holiday ever. The decorating the porch with cute but scary decorations, to watching all of the trick or treaters have the best fun outside. I know in Portsmouth, all of the kids take dressing u scarily or in their favourite characters outfit very seriously. So, I know halloween has a deeper meaning but in the log run its definitely focused on sweet treats being handed out and eaten. If you and your family wanted to celebrate more at home this year, then I have got the perfect halloween cupcake recipe for you. Make these with your kids on the night of halloween to create the best memories for everyone.

To make the cupcake batter you will need:

-        4 eggs

-        Butter

-        Caster sugar

-        Self raising flour

-        Vanilla extract

This recipe is the quickest, easiest cake batter that can possibly be made.

-        Step 1. Weigh your 4 eggs (egg still in shell)

-        What ever weight your egg was, you are going to do the same weight for your butter, sugar and flour.

-        Step 2. Cream together your butter and sugar until very pale in colour, almost white.

-        Step 3. Slowly add in your eggs, only mix until just combined.

-        Step 4. Carefully mix in your flour and vanilla, mix until combined, (don’t over mix)

-        Pour or pipe batter into chosen cupcake cases (about halfway full)

-        Bake in a pre heated oven at 180 degrees until knifes comes out clean.

Leave cake to cool on cooling rack.

To make the butter cream to decorate your cake:

-500g unsalted butter room temp

- 1000g icing sugar

- vanilla extract

-        Step 1. Mix butter until it becomes very light in colour

-        Step 2. Sift in icing sugar and mix on a high speed for 7 mins

-        Add in your vanilla extract

And that’s it! Now you have got the perfect, fluffy cupcakes baked with a sweet, delicious butter cream frosting to decorate them with.

Decorate them cute, or scary. You choose!
